• A Maldivian national who stayed in the same building as an individual positive for COVID19 has recently returned from Malaysia. Since returning from Malaysia, & upon displaying COVID19 like symptoms, the Maldivian is now being transferred to Farukolhu for monitoring & testing.
• WHO has characterized COVID19 as pandemic.
• As per protocol, one Maldivian nationals who arrived from Bangladesh, this evening is being placed under 14-days quarantine.
• As a precautionary measure, a foreign national who came into contact with a confirmed case of COVID19 in Sandies Bathala Maldives, is being transferred to Farukolhu Isolation facility for monitoring and testing.
• As per protocol, one Maldivian national who arrived from China this morning is being placed under 14-day quarantine in Vilivaru quarantine facility.
• Samples taken from two foreign nationals from Kuramathi Maldives (AA. Atoll) have tested positive for COVID19. Temporary restrictive measures are in place, as contact tracing continues. We continue to monitor the situation and will provide further updates.
• Sample collected from individual suspected of COVID19 from One and Only Reethi Rah Island Resort has been tested as NEGATIVE. Contact tracing is now complete for the island. As per protocol, the temporary restrictive measures enacted on the island have now been lifted.
• Sample collected from individual suspected of COVID19 from Vilamendhoo Island Resort has been tested as NEGATIVE. Contact tracing is now complete for the island. As per protocol, the temporary restrictive measures enacted on the island have now been lifted.
• As per protocol, two Maldivian nationals who arrived from Rome, Italy, this morning are being placed under 14-day quarantine at Vilivaru quarantine facility.
