• Fourteen individuals with COVID19 like symptoms are being transferred to Hulhule Isolation Facility (HIF) for isolation. The 14 individuals are contacts of the case: MAV021.
• Samples taken from a Maldivian national who was a Direct Contact of the positive case has tested POSITIVE for COVID19. This is the 2nd person to became POSITIVE for COVID-19 in Malé. The person is currently in an Isolation Facility. It is the 7th Maldivian to test positive for the disease.
• Kaafu Kaashidhoo placed under monitoring, due to a “direct contact” of the individual who tested positive for COVID-19 in Male’ travelling to the island.
• The residence of the first positive COVID19 case found in Malé City, M. Jareemaage has been placed under monitoring. All unauthorized entry and exit from the building is now prohibited.
• H. Raiykuredhi 4th floor (Malé) and Noomasvaadhee, S. Hithadhoo has been placed under monitoring following contact tracing procedures of the Maldivian who tested positive for COVID19 in Malé City today.
• As per the new measures enacted in Malé City, departure of all unauthorized vessels docked in any part of Malé City is also prohibited during the lockdown period.
• After a “direct contact” of a Maldivian national who tested positive for COVID19 travelled to Kaafu Atoll Kaashidhoo, the island has been placed under monitoring until further notice. All unauthorized entry and exit from the island is now prohibited.
• A Maldivian national, resident in Male’ City has tested positive for Covid-19. The individual presented at the designated flu clinic near Male’ Hiya 2 with flu like symptoms on April 14 2020. A sample was taken, which tested positive for Covid-19. Upon confirmation of the result, Rapid Response Teams (RRT) have been activated. Other measures include temporarily cordoning off the individual’s residence, placing the residents under quarantine, and contact tracing after informing the result to the individual. In addition, the individual who was confirmed positive has been transferred to an isolation facility. From the information currently available, this individual does not have a travel history outside of the Maldives. The Health Protection Agency (HPA) requests all individuals to strictly follow the precautionary measures issued by authorities. This includes: staying at home, not leaving the house unless it is for an essential purpose, and maintaining physical distancing.
